- Apostle Peter himself has stopped living like a Jew.
Galatians 2:14 When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions?
- Paul however rebuked Peter for for trying to make Gentiles follow Jewish traditions.
- Jewish’s practices is applicable only until the new covenant.
Hebrews 9:10 since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed UNTIL a time of reformation.
- Paul told the Hebrews/ Jewish Christians these practices are obsolete.
Hebrews 8:13 When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear.
- With Christ, we died to the Jewish practices.
Colossians 2:20,16 20 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 16 If you have DIED with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as,
- Jewish practices lead to slavery.
Galatians 4:9-11 …Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you
- If you do a Jewish practice for spiritual reason, you are obligated to do all written in the law (see Leviticus) or you will be under a curse.
Galatians 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all things written in the book of the law, to perform them.”
