WHAT IS REVIVAL?

  1. Revival is God Manifesting His Presence.

Ps. 80:19 Restore us, O Lord God Almighty: make your face shine upon us.

Hosea 6:2 After two days he will revive us… that we may live in his presence.

  1. A simple definition of revival is “God coming to his people.”
  2. In revival, people report of experiencing God’s heart; Sometimes His compassion for the lost, sometimes his grief over sin or sometimes his love or joy toward his people.
  3. “The renewal of the first love of Christians, resulting in the awakening and conversion of sinners.” – Charles Finney
  1. Revival is God Manifesting His Power. (Mat. 12:28)

Hab. 3:2 Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds (power), O Lord. Renew (revive) them in our day, in our time make them known…

  1. There is an open heaven; God allows some of heavenly realities to be experienced on earth; angelic visitations, healings, throne room experiences, etc. (Ge. 28:12, Ac.7:56)
  2. In revival God began to acceleration his work on earth. (Amos 9:3)

           – What usually take years to achieve (ex. freedom from homosexuality, vices) can be attained in an hour of God encounter.

  1. Note: While God’s word promised the last days will be characterized by lawlessness, we can still believe there will be a great revival in the midst of thick darkness. (Isa. 60:1-3)
